Using the moniker – ScenesFromSound – Bradley Dawson develops soundtracks to support landscapes, moods, and images. The places where an absence of sound would be far louder and more distracting.
Theory
ScenesFromSound – merging technological and natural landscapes by means of field recordings, modular synth patches, and live recorded instrument performances; stripping away the excess of these elements to capture a thoughtful and healing atmosphere for that length of time.
This work is an architectural process, describing the relationship between the objects of sound as well as the spaces that surround them. The performance itself is a means of guiding the listener through this work, pointing out structural features, which windows to peer through, and what rooms to explore.
